Monday, September 15 – Saturday, November 15, 2014 – Morris Library open hours – The Day of the Dead Art ExhibitAs loss of habitat, climate change, and indiscriminate use of pesticides accelerate ecosystem corruption, how does our perception of what is normal change? How do we stay connected as species vanish? Join us as we honor the traditions of our ancestors from around the world and build a bridge between their dreams for us and ours for the generations still to come. See the bigger picture we share. Monday, September 22, 2014 – 7:00 pm – Mercy Killers one-man play written and performed by Michael Milligan, which explores the frustrations and inequalities of a failed healthcare system through the eyes of this average “Joe”. (Guyon Auditorium, Morris Library, SIU Carbondale). Co-sponsored by Southern Illinois People for Progress, Illinois Single-Payer Coalition, Physicians for a National Program Illinois and the Buckminster Fuller Future Organization. FREE and open to the public, donations encouraged.
